I intend to use this blog to describe my adventures in returning to kit building 4mm wagons after many years away from the hobby. Many things I’ve seen recently are reassuringly familiar and should help me make a good start; other things are different, new and frankly a change for the better.

I hope to reacquaint myself with long-forgotten old skills and learn new skills that I never managed to master in the past. My approach will be to attempt to build models to the highest standard I can achieve (it’s all about quality over speed or quantity for me) and to go into the details of the materials, tools and techniques I use – mainly because I’m frustrated that these things sometimes get glossed over in the modelling press.

I hope you’ll enjoy being along for the ride, learn along with me, celebrate with me when things turn out as planned and commiserate with me when they don’t! Most of all, I hope that every wagon I construct tells a story…
